Software
The Systems Team at BII hosts the following software resources for your
convenience and download.
Most of these are free, public domain downloadable software.
If, however, you detect any problems with the downloads such as
corrupted or incomplete files, do email
us. Nonetheless, we also have the following
disclaimer some parts tongue in cheek,
but basically indemifying us of any responsibilies out of improper
software usage.
All these tools are public domain and they come as a download service
by the systems team without any warrenties, representations
or guarantees of any kind. If you would like any support with
regard to the various software, it is preferred that you seek
out the author/web site of the software first. The systems
team could assist you in pointing to the software sources, if the
need requires it. And, like any tool, the usage of it in
untested or improper environments or configurations run the risk of
data loss, so unless you are insanely confident, we would advise
running sofware as it is
documented and in its proper
environment. For the adventurous who defy this,
we will respect and applaud the spirit of your reckless
bravery, but please
do so at your own risk and
even so, after
making a successful backup of your data.
This list is not exhaustive and more will be added as time goes by.
If anyone feels that we should carry a mirror of any
software, please submit to us for consideration via email. Enjoy :).

Useful Applications
There are also a couple of applications which may be useful to you.
Most of these run on Windows as well as some form of
Linux/Unix. The systems team encourages the use of open
source software. While that may not necessary offer ALL the
features that commercial software do have, but it comes pretty close.
And even so,
there is always a workaround.
The belowmentioned software are located in the systems public directory
where possible, only the binaries/installers for
windows are mainly there, because as with linux, there are different
packaging formats (deb, rpm, autoinstall etc etc..) for
different folks. Nonetheless, there will be a link to the
authors website for every software mentioned where you can download
the software packaged accordingly and the latest version if it pleases
you.
Vmware
Vmware Server:
VMware ESX Server is an enterprise-level virtualization product
offered by VMware, Inc., a division of EMC Corporation
(wikipedia). It allows you to run
different OS within a host OS of your choice, for e.g you could run
linux on a Windows machine, and Windows on a linux machine at
the same instance without rebooting your computer. [ Website

You might also want to try out Vmware
Workstation.
For both these software you might need to download the serial numbers
to work. For some strange reason, one cannot just get
all the serial numbers and expect them to be reused anywhere.
It just doesn't work for certain OS. To avoid
excessive
frustration, please follow the instructions on the website and download
the serial numbers for your use with the respective
products.
