Change Your Corporate Server Password

Please Note :

  • All users are required to change their passwords EVERY 12 MONTHS.
  • A reminder email would be sent two weeks before expiry.
  • Password changing may take between 10 - 60 seconds to process.
  • Password must have at least 12 characters and not more than 32 characters.
  • Password cannot contain any of your first or last name.
  • Password must contain a mix of characters from at least three of the following categories:

  • If you did not connect over an SSL connection, please click here now.

    • *Alternatively, you can change your password by ssh'ing to ssh.bii.a-star.edu.sg and typing passwd at the unix prompt.
    *Please do not use the dollar symbol $, brackets (, ), [, ], single ' or double-qutoes " in your password.

    Services which authenticate against this account include :

  • Remote access via ssh (eg: ssh.bii.a-star.edu.sg) to all corporate servers.
  • POP over SSL (port 995) from pop.bii.a-star.edu.sg
  • IMAP (port 143) and IMAP over SSL (port 993) from imap.bii.a-star.edu.sg
  • Webmail (https) on webmail.bii.a-star.edu.sg
  • SMTP Authentication (when you're out of office) on smtp.bii.a-star.edu.sg
  • BII openvpn access
  • AFS access (klog to obtain tokens).

    • Services which DO NOT authenticate against this account include :
